The Most Respected Writer on DigitalPoint???
I was finally digging through some recent incoming links here on NakedPR, and among a nice little bit of link love coming in for the recent 7 Signs Your Press Release Sucks, there was this nice little tidbit over on the ViperChill Search Engine Marketing blog about NakedPR.
“A blog by the most respected writer on DigitalPoint Forums, and with over 60,000 members that takes some doing. Jen Mattern is a PR writer with her own communications company and produces the only blog I dare subscribe too on PR, simply because I don’t need to subscribe to any other. When you create a reputation for yourself then people begin to trust what you say and thats the situation with Jennifer. The blog is a no nonsense approach to teaching people PR so if its something you feel you may be interested in, why not check it out?”
Awwwwwww. :D I’m totally flattered….
I figured hey… what kind of PR blogger would I be if I didn’t toot my own horn once in a while? ;) Here’s the thing though…. I certainly hope that at least some DPers respect what I have to say about writing and PR, but for each of those that does, I’m sure you could find a dozen or more who totally despise me…. and I’m completely ok with that! I’m definitely a “tough love” type. You’ll hear my opinion. You’ll hear it bluntly. And you’ll like it, dammit! hehe j/k I’m huge on honesty, whether it’s what people want to hear or not. And frankly, it’s why I have quite a few of the regular clients I have. I’m not a “Yes (wo)man” for anyone. I consider it a part of my job as a writer and consultant to teach (and continually learn along the way), rather than simply saying what people want to hear, or giving them the easy way out. It’s always nice to hear that someone respects that, so I wanted to spread the link love back a little bit. :)
And by the way… there are plenty of extremely talented writers on DP, and several I respect quite a bit, including all of the Six Figure Challenge group I work with on that project, and several others (many regulars over at my AllFreelancing.com freelance writing forums). :) There’s a wonderful group, even if we’re sometimes mistaken for a little “gang.” (Boy, I wish sometimes! lol)
