Naked PR Changes and What Indie Musicians Can Teach You About Social Media
As you may or may not know, before I started working predominantly with online entrepreneurs and webmasters, I worked almost exclusively with musicians. I’m still involved with that scene quite a bit. I’ve also mentioned here recently that I think independent (indie) musicians are often a perfect example of those using social media effectively in both PR and marketing.
I’ve also mentioned that I’ve been working on a book dealing with that very subject - how artist PR can be adapted to more traditional business use to essentially turn your customers or other audiences into fans of you or your brand.
As such, consider this a heads up that you’ll be seeing more here at Naked PR in coming weeks on that topic, with (hopefully) lots of interviews and case studies with artists, their PR reps / publicists, and others involved in the indie music scene. It won’t interfere with other general rants, interviews, and lovely tid bits - promise. I have the first four or five interviews lined up, so when we get down to it you’ll start to see the changes.
Naked PR Changes
This is just one of a few changes happening here. As you may have noticed, there’s a newsletter signup form in the sidebar for Get Naked - a newsletter I’m launching in July. That’s new.
I’ll also soon be answering some whining I’d heard in the past, and be making the posts and RSS feed all full posts (not possible with the current ad setup, so once I work out a solution on that front, that will happen - probably in a few days).
I’ve also been feeling rather blah lately - like my posts are too serious or some nonsense. So expect some more fun coming, both in basic posts and perhaps more creative features letting me showcase some of my non-bitching talents (well still some bitching involved to be completely honest).
I’ll probably be making some minor adjustments to things like ads, subscription, and bookmarking links, etc. Nothing exciting there - just letting you know in case anyone’s feeling overly attached to the little AddThis! button below the posts - you never know.
I’ll also be implementing a specific comment policy on the blog. I know - ewwwwww - right? Don’t worry - I’m not going to go all fascist bitch on you.
I have a few other concepts I’m toying with that I may pursue after these other things get a move on. But no commitments on those fronts yet. And of course, if you’d like to see something specific here, don’t hesitate to say so. I may shoot you down. Then again, I might think it’s a scrumptious little idea, and run with it.
(And awwww, just because I love ya, here’s your first full post - no obnoxious extra clicking required.)
